The backstory of Ashley's song

Ashley had written a song back in 2018 when her family had just moved, in faith, to Fayetteville, NC. While waiting for direction, she wrote down what included a conversation of sorts with the Lord. It was as though He spoke loud and clear the chorus of the song. In February of this year, she felt the need to reach out to a local producer about recording it. She refined and finalized the lyrics and submitted in July, before knowing of the leading to come. She was praying He would lead and in reality, He was! Closer to Him. If you were to just listen to it without any knowledge of the past, you may think it was written for now. It may have been, prophetically, but probably more so to carry me through seasons of great change, as it has time and time again, by relying on His word.

We pray the song blesses you and is an immense reminder and encouragement to you as you may walk uncertain paths or even just experience life. It is definitely a song of an ongoing journey of following Him and the battle that comes with it. It is easy to be distracted and lose sight of what's important. The enemy does all he can to deceive us and tries to get us to come into agreement with what he says, instead of what God says. The battle to stand firm and keep on standing is real. Take every thought captive and listen to the only true voice of love, the voice of the Good Shepherd who will lead us on the path of righteousness. We just need to follow Him.
